QuantRx patented PAD technology allows the collection and transportation of vaginal fluid and vaginal cells originating from intravaginal secretions, to be used to monitor or diagnose important clinical parameters, including cervical cancer, candida, chlamydia, trichomonas, bacterial vaginosis and sexually transmitted diseases including HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, human papalloma virus and herpes infections.
In addition, the fluid extract is useful in measuring certain metabolic clinical parameters that have traditionally been limited to blood collections, i.e., glucose, cholesterol, pituitary hormones, thyroid hormones, steroid hormones, therapeutic drugs, drugs of abuse, nutritional markers, fetal disease markers during pregnancy and levels of certain metabolites that may be characterized by immunochemical or physical diagnostic techniques from other QuantRx technologies.
QuantRx PAD technology offers the advantages of privacy, non-invasiveness, flushability and biodegradability, providing a simple, inexpensive and convenient method for the collection of fluids and cells for diagnostic purposes. The method is non-invasive and kits may be purchased by the patient, resulting in far less expense and inconvenience.
The PADKit employs a miniform to provide a passive, self-collected sample for diagnostic testing. This sample is mailed to a clinical laboratory via the U.S. Postal Service for analysis with the most current diagnostic testing systems provided by other QuantRx technology platforms.
